Here’s a real quick post, how many books do you own? Don’t take the time to count them, but make a guess. I’m talking about published books, either hard or softcover, but not notebooks and pamphlets. Under 100? Over 200? Well over 1,000? I know plenty of people still have home libraries.
I think I have somewhere in the 300 range, with that number changing depending on if you count multiple copies or not. I’m even counting comics. Plenty of my friends own boxes full of comics, and that I can’t keep up with. I might have more graphic novels than comics.
I regret collecting a lot of books every time I have to move. It’s never a couple boxes of books, unless I am really confident I can carry a lot of weight in so few boxes. My collection keeps growing too, especially as I get more copies of my own book printed.

Gia awoke to his door being opened by the guards, without realizing he had even fallen asleep. He thought it was the next morning already, but he must have over-judged the passing of time. It was nighttime, just before the blue finished draining out of the western sky. There were stars just about everywhere, but the town square was lit with torches and large fires where great cauldrons were steaming and wafting out the smell of stewed vegetables. The scent transformed into something more like a full hearty meal to the hungry amnesiac, even as the guards escorted him in chains through the crowd. A rectangular wooden stage in the middle of the square stood about five feet off the ground. It was empty for the moment.
